Maximows idea of hematopoiedic cell differentation was 100 years ago, far ahead of his time. He desribed stromal-hemopoetic cell interaction. To day the mechanismen of stromal-hematopoetic cell interaction and the importance of stromal-fibroblasts for celll differentation is the center of stem cell research.
